Prior to forming Wesierski and Zurek LLP, Mr. Wesierski was the managing senior partner at the Orange County office of a large defense firm. He also served on the executive management committee for that firm.
Mr. Wesierski attended California State University at Long Beach where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975. He studied law at the University of San Diego and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1978.
Mr. Wesierski was admitted to the California State Bar in 1979 and is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, Labor & Employment Law Section of the California State bar and he is an Advocate with the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubble (highest ranking) and is ranked 10 (out of a possible 10) by AVVO. He has been selected as one of the top five employment and insurance lawyers in Orange County by OC Metro.
He has also been admitted to the Ninth Circuit of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for all districts in California. He was on the editorial board for James Publishing as to sexual harassment publications. Mr. Wesierski is a Master Bencher in the Robert Banyard Inn of Court. Chris Wesierski is a member of the executive board for Orange County ABOTA. He is a member of the executive board for the Robert Banyard Inn of Court. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Bar Foundation.
Mr. Wesierski has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in both state and federal court in such diverse areas of law as wrongful termination, medical malpractice, premises liability, insurance coverage bad faith, products liability, defamation, breach of contract, sexual harassment, 17200 claims, agent malpractice, malicious prosecution, appraiser malpractice and auto liability. Mr. Wesierski has also arbitrated numerous cases to successful conclusion.
He is a specialist in Mary Carter agreements and has consulted as an expert in this area. He has published an article concerning Mary Carter agreements in the Insurance Counsel Journal and has been quoted in the California State Bar Magazine on that topic. Mr. Wesierski has lectured for the Rutter Group and has been asked to teach a trial practice course for a local law school. He has also given trial seminars to various insurance companies, corporations and other companies as well as such groups as the California Hotel and Motel Association and the National Food Service in Portland, Oregon and Beaver Creek, Colorado as well as Phoenix, Arizona and San Diego, California. He has published an article on employment in two magazines and has cases that have been published on appeal in employment matters. He has published an article along with Laura Barns on Employment Law in CEB on line.
Mr. Wesierski Elected to International Society of Barristers: As of November 2011, Mr. Wesierski was elected to the prestigious International Society of Barristers. You have to be asked to join that group and membership is limited to 600 members nationwide.
September 2011 - Mr. Wesierski was asked to speak to high school students on Constitution Day along with select attorneys and judges.
October 26, 2011 - Chris Wesierski and a plaintiff counsel will present a civility program to members of the bench and bar.
October 27, 2010. Chris Wesierski did a presentation on cross-examination of key witnesses at Turnip Rose to a group of lawyers and judges.
June 25, 2010. Clash of the Titans. Chris Wesierski was selected by Orange County ABOTA to head the defense team for the Masters in Cross-Examination program at Chapman Law School on June 25, 2010. Mark Robinson was the head of the plaintiff team with formidable lawyers on each team. The two teams will cross-examine lay persons and experts throughout a one-day seminar with a one-hour talk on ethics. The two teams have so many excellent trial attorneys that it is being billed as the "Clash of the Titans."
March 25, 2010. EXPERTS: Who Do You Need & How Do You Examine Them? Christopher Wesierski was selected by the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association to participate as Defense Attorney on a panel consisting of a Plaintiff's Attorney, Defense Attorney and Judge to give their perspective to selecting experts in various cases. There will be a live examination of expert witnesses and direct and cross-examination of the experts.
October 28, 2009. Chris Wesierski was asked to give a live presentation on voir dire at Robert Banyard Inn of Court on October 28, 2009 at the Turnip Rose restaurant along with a judge and another attorney.
October 23, 2009. Chris Wesierski spoke at a collaborative event at UCI Irvine School of Law on Friday October 23, 2009 at 1:45 pm. The brochure describes it as the first collaborative event between the new UC Irvine School of Law, Orange County Trial Lawyers Association and American Board of Trial Advocates. It goes on to state "Many of California's premier jurists, scholars and attorneys will share their views and insights with you..."
January 17, 2009. Christopher Wesierski was asked to give a one hour presentation to the Orange County Bar in their 17th Annual Last Dash Legal Education Seminar along with a distinguished retired jurist and a counsel for the plaintiff side on putting the "civil" back in civil litigation on January 17, 2009 at Whittier Law School.
In May 2009, Mr. Wesierski was the defense coordinator, while in January 2008, he handled the direct exam of the expert in regard to accident reconstruction and biomechanics at Chapman Law School for an audience of over one hundred. In 2006, he was the defense coordinator for all of the attorney speakers on the defense side of the case, in 2003, he was one of the speakers, and in 2001, he was the defense coordinator as well.
Most recently, Chris Wesierski was selected as one of the top attorneys in Orange County for both Employment/Labor matters and for Insurance situations by OCMETRO. As the cover of the magazine stated "OC's Top Lawyers - Is your attorney among them? It's the list every business owner and savvy professional Must Read!" He has received this accolade three years in a row.
Mr. Wesierski was selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer again for 2011. He has received this honor every year since 2004 by votes tabulated and sent to over 65,000 lawyers in Southern California. Only three percent of licensed attorneys in Southern California were selected for this award which includes lawyers from every type of practice including public interest lawyers, in-house counsel, prosecutors and public defenders.
In November 2003, Mr. Wesierski was presented the prestigious Angelo Palmieri award for maintaining the legal profession's highest tradition of professionalism and civility by the Robert Banyard Inn of Court.
