Terence Carney attended the University of the Pacific where he graduated cum laude in 1979, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Political Science and Political Economy. He was also selected by the University as one of its outstanding graduating seniors. That same year he was nominated by the University of the Pacific as their Rhodes Scholar candidate.
He studied law at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and received his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, in 1982. That same year, he was admitted to the California State Bar and thereafter, to the California Central District of the U.S. District Court.
Since his admission to the California State Bar, Mr. Carney has been associated with litigation firms specializing in defense work. Mr. Carney has tried numerous cases to verdict and currently is an associate with the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has had extensive experience in cases involving land subsidence, product liability, auto liability and premises liability, and landlord tenant.
Currently he is a member of the State Bar of California, the Orange County Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense and the Celtic Bar Association.
